Responsibilities of FAB as Notifying Administration of Pakistan in ITU for the Satellite Program of Pakistan (PAKSAT) |

|
1. Represents the administration of Pakistan and is the focal/contact point for all 189 administrations, satellite operators and ITU.
|
|
|
2. Receives IFIC from ITU-R twice a month containing data on frequency assignments of satellite networks:-
|
|
|
• Advance Publication Information.
|
|
|
• Coordination Requests.
|
|
|
• Suppression of networks.
|
|
|
• Coordination requests for Appendix 30, 30A, 30B plans.
|
|
|
• Due Diligence Information.
|
|
|
• Acknowledgement of Notification by ITU.
|
|
|
• Favorable findings and permanent recording of assignments in MIFR.
|
|
|
• Unfavorable findings and cancellation of N-notice.
|
|
|
3. Carries out analysis of information contained in IFIC and takes necessary measures to protect the filed and planned satellite networks of Pakistan.
|
|
|
4. Prepares appropriate responses and corresponds with the related administrations accordingly.
|
|
|
5. Receives requests for coordination from administrations and satellite operators. Exchange technical proposals to complete frequency coordination.
|
|
|
6. If coordination is not achieved through correspondence, meetings are arranged on mutually agreed agenda.
|
|
|
7. Provides regulatory support to all concerned agencies in Pakistan related to satellite services in light of Radio Regulations, ITU procedures and Recommendations.
